runway looks spring summer 2016

Spring 2016 Trend Report

10 fashion trends, hot off the runway coming your way soon! We are so over the sales now and ready for the stores to make way for their new collections. But what is there to get excited about? Brace yourself for romantic with Spanish influences, feminine with emphasis on shoulders and sleeves, low slung relaxed pants, fringing, yes still with us. Heels are out and slippers (designer of course) are in!

1. Orange is definitely the new black

From citrus brights to sunset tones and tangerine, this is the juicy way to inject some energy and fun and get your look bang up to date.

2. Denim, denim and more denim

This style trend is going to be huge in 2016 - and not just jeans. From faded to black denim with a strong 90's theme, there is something for everyone here. Loose relaxed pants, dresses, skirts and jackets in patchwork, printed denim with brocade overlay (a la Dolce and Gabbana) and get your sewing kits out for badge overload.

3. Shoulders will be revealed

Get set for your shoulders to smoulder. This body part is the one to bare for spring with a host of shoulder-baring styles, most popular being the stunning x-shape neckline.

4. Ruffles and frills

The epitome of femininity. From the dramatic head to toe frills as seen by Marques Almeida to the more subtle fluttering trim. One thing's for sure the frill will definitely be making an appearance this spring in some form or other.

5. Uh oh... the slip dress is back

Keep going with the January workout as this fitted little number takes no prisoners! The satin boudoir look is back again.

6. The prairie look

High necklines, heavily embroidered shirts and dresses. Uber romantic.

7. Flat and backless

I'm talking slippers, designer of course. These slip-ons will be a welcome addition to some commuters wardrobe I'm sure.

8. Silver

Featured heavily on the catwalks, with head to toe creations in metallics paired with crisp whites. Isabel Marant's laid back luxe silver pants and Loewe's mirror embellished dresses, set the scene for a spangled look, not exclusive to club wear.

9. Backpacks

The humble backpack has been given a haute makeover.

10. Pleats

Pleats this season have had an upgrade, in box and knife varieties, swaying sexily around the knee. In my opinion, Stella MacCartney did these best along with my favourite look on the catwalk her take on the polo shirt. This Fruit of the Loom classic is more spaceship than preppy, in bold check print, Relaxed style personified. I for one hope this one makes it on to the high street, Love it!
